The Mayor’s celebration of Georgia Reads Day at InnoLab WRGA is a community-centered literacy and innovation event designed to inspire young learners through the power of storytelling and technology. Hosted in partnership with the Mayor’s Office at the InnoLab, this event brings together students, educators, families, and civic leaders for a day that celebrates reading as the foundation of imagination, creativity, and innovation.

Innovation-Inspired Literacy Learning Labs

• Story Builders Station – Students co-create a digital story using iPads, green screens, and apps for storytelling.

• Makerspace Corner – Build a character or scene from the story using LEGO/3D printing/craft supplies.

• AR/VR Story World – Experience immersive storytelling through VR headsets or AR storybooks.

• Read the Room Podcast Experience – Explore storytelling by role-playing to  “act out” parts of the story or read simple lines.

• AI Story Generator Station – Co-create stories with AI tools, then illustrate them digitally.

• Reading Rainbow – “Book Swap Corner” – Bring a book to exchange with a peer, encouraging sharing and community ownership of literacy.

• Drawing Lab - Create an AI-generated coloring sheet. See your words come to life in the InnoLab.
